Bread Machine Recipe?
Does anyone have a good recipe for a sweet tasting bread I can make in a bread machine? I'd like to make a loaf that tastes, and is similar in texture, to sweet dinner rolls. I need a recipe for a 2 lb. loaf, if possible, and, preferably, one that you've actually tasted. Thanks!
I love sweet breads. but I use Krustez box brand Hawiian sweet bread. It is wonderful!!!

Anyone have any Cherry muffin recipes?
I am looking for a good cherry muffin recipe - (in english weights and measures) Not cups (U.S).
I would like to make muffins with mixed glace cherries (red, green, yellow) for my step-daugher and her friends but need a good muffin recipe as a starting point.
Also just to point out - I'm after a muffin recipe (ie - with baking powder) Not a cake recipe!

INGREDIENTS
4 1/2 teaspoons shortening
1/3 cup sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup dried cherries or cranberries, halved
DIRECTIONS
In a small mixing bowl, beat shortening and sugar. Beat in egg. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to egg mixture alternately with buttermilk. Fold in cherries.
Coat muffin cups with nonstick cooking spray or line with paper liners; fill three-fourths full. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack.

It always seemed to me somehow that turkeys shouldn’t love the beginning of winter. At first we celebrate Thanksgiving Day at the end of November, then comes Christmas – and millions of turkeys in the whole world live they last days.
Do Americans and Britons know why they call this bird by the name of one of the Asia Minor states? In fact it bears no relation to Turkey. Let’s look to the past. Turkey cocks came to Europe from West Indies, i.e. America. Christopher Columbus was searching for another way to India as he discovered a new land, which he mistook for India. He thought turkey is related to a peacock that is called tuka by the inhabitants of the islands in the Indian Ocean. That is why we name this wonderful bird turkey.
But let’s speak about turkey as a main dish of Christmas dinner. To my mind, it’s the biggest and appetizing poultry, which gives the best fit to a family holiday. There are lots of ways to cook a turkey, though it’s usually served whole. The principle of cooking is simple enough. First of all you need to unfreeze turkey correctly: do it beforehand, unhurriedly, better in the fridge what will require about 15-20 hours.
Turkey has delicate fatless meat, that’s why there is a danger that it can get dryish during cooking. I know one secret way to make your turkey juicy and fleshy – take a usual syringe with a needle, fill it with melt butter and make some injections in its soft places. The result is startling, I assure you! Then rub the bird with salt and pepper within and outside, and it’s basically ready to be placed in the oven.
Now it comes time for the most interesting thing: to choose what the turkey will be stuffed with. Whether you use such products like rice, fruits, nuts or chestnuts – it’s all a matter of taste. Exactly stuffing variations distinguish different national recipes from each other: Poles add cream and chopped meat, Dutch - mashed potatoes and celery, French prefer chestnuts, and so on. But I’m going to share with you the tastiest turkey recipes from my large collection and hope you’ll appreciate them at their true value.
Turkey with cranberries, bacon and walnuts
This spicy filling is one of the most delicious – it’s a hybrid between traditional American and English versions of turkey stuffings. Cider sauce harmonizes perfectly with golden turkey crisp.
1 turkey weighing about 4 kilos
1 tablespoon corn oil
4 ounces bacon, sliced
2 shallots, chopped
2 celery twigs, chopped
1 rosemary twig
3 ounces cranberries
3 cups cider
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon allspice
3 ounces walnuts, chopped
1 orange peel, grated
1 cup sausage meat
1 egg
2/3 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup mouldering butter
1 1/4 cup chicken broth
1 teaspoon starch
salt and pepper at your taste
1. To make stuffing, combine oil, bacon, shallot, celery and rosemary in a saucepan. Cook 10 minutes, until vegetables are soft but not stain. Add cranberries, and 1 1/2 cup cider. Cook for 10-20 minutes, then take the pan from fire and let the mass get cold.
2. Add nutmeg, allspice, a pinch of salt and pepper, walnuts, orange peel, sausage meat, 1 egg and crumbs.
3. Heat up the oven to 240 C. Wipe dry turkey skin and stuff it. The rest of stuffing you can lay around the turkey.
4. Coat the turkey with butter and flavor. Tent with aluminum foil and put in the oven. In 15 minutes reduce the heat to the minimum. Pour on juice, and then bake for 2 – 2 1/2 hours. Remove foil an hour before the dish is ready. Remove turkey from oven, cover with foil again and let it rest for 30 minutes before carving.
5. Then you have to make a sauce. Remove grease in the casserole dish in which you’ve baked the turkey, add cider, chicken broth and a little meat from turkey wings. Combine with starch and cook until it thickens. Pour it in a sauceboat and serve up together with the turkey.
Apple-glazed turkey with herbs
This savory herb filling will surely enhance your turkey for the holiday table. In its part sweet apple glaze is snap to cook and has a really delicious and original taste.
1 turkey
1/2 cup butter
2 onions, chopped
1 large carrot, diced
2 stalks celery, chopped
1/2 cup parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
8 cups bread crumbs
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For the glaze:
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4-1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1. Melt butter in a large saucepan. Add onion, carrot and celery and cook for about 10 minutes over medium heat. Add breadcrumbs and mix well, then add thyme, parsley, sage, salt and pepper and mix the mass. Pour in broth and fluff gently.
2. Heat oven to 220 C. Remove giblets and neck from cavity. Fill the large turkey cavity and the smaller neck cavity, if you have enough stuffing. In the case you want to cook the stuffing separately, put in the oven 40-50 minutes before the turkey will be ready.
3. Roast turkey about 2-2 1/2 hours. Then cover it with foil and, reduce the heat and continue cooking 30-40 minutes more.
4. Melt apple jelly in a pot. Combine with cinnamon, pepper and salt and mix thoroughly. Brush turkey with apple glaze and cook about 3-5 minutes without foil until it’s browned.
5. Take the turkey out, cover with foil and let it for half an hour
Turkey with blocks and ham with Madeira gravy
If you want your turkey to be juicy, flavored and tasty, try this quite easy recipe. This is a perfect dish for a holiday dinner for two.
1 turkey weighing 5 kilos
12 ounces blocks
1 pint chicken broth
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 small onion, diced
1 clove garlic, grated
8 ounces bacon, diced
3 parsley twigs, chopped
1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
3 1/2 ounces dry tomatoes, sliced
1/2 lemon peel
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
For the gravy:
2 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup Madeira
1 tablespoon mustard
1. Put blocks in a big pan, combine with hot broth and leave it for 10 minutes.
2. Fry onion and garlic about 5 minutes. Increase the heat, combine with bacon and cook for 5 minutes more.
3. Combine blocks with bacon, herbs, lemon peel, tomatoes, salt and pepper. Brush the turkey with butter and stuff with the blocks mass.
4. Heat the oven to 200-220 C. put the turkey on the casserole dish, tent with foil and bake for about 3 hours. Then remove foil, grease the turkey with its juice and cook for 20-30 minutes more.
5. Take the turkey out, when it’s ready and place it on a big dish, covered with foil. Take the casserole dish with turkey grease and put it on fire. Add flour, broth, Madeira and mustard. Cook for 10-15 minutes over a medium heat. Season the turkey at your taste.

I want to make my own bread.?
Can you share your delicious recipe with me?
Just a quick, easy recipe, (i'm not an experienced french chef or anything), be gentle.
5 to 6 c. flour
3 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 pkg. dry yeast
2 c. water
1/4 c. vegetable oil
In large bowl, combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast. Blend well. In small saucepan, heat water and oil until very lukewarm (120 to 130 degrees). Add warm liquid to flour mixture. Blend until moistened, then beat with beater 3 minutes. Stir in 2 1/2 to 3 cups flour until dough pulls cleanly away from side of bowl.
Knead 10 minutes, adding a little flour at a time, if dough feels sticky. Grease lump of dough. Put in bowl to rise and cover with towel. Let rise until double, then punch down. Divide dough into 2 parts and shape into balls. Let rise on counter covered with inverted bowl for 15 minutes.
Shape into loaves and place in 2 greased pans. Let rise in warm place about 1 hour or until it has risen about 1 inch above pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until loaf sounds hollow. Remove from pans and brush top with butter.

Subsequent to this, the porous container was then converted in order to produce ceramic glazes. Aside from this, bronze and iron metalworking skills were allowed in making cookware.
By the 17th century, the Westerner's kitchens began to use kettles, baking pans, skillets and pots. These were commonly produced by a local blacksmith in American colonies. The material was derived from iron, while brass or copper were common in Europe and Asia.
Cookwares are made from different materials, such as:
Metals
• Aluminum - a very good thermal conductivity that does not rust. It is lightweight, and resistant to many forms of corrosion. However, it can react with some acidic foods and changes its taste.
Hence, non-anodized (has no layer of aluminum oxide) aluminum may cause oxidation to some of the foods like sauces that contains egg yolks, or vegetables such as asparagus or artichokes. Aluminum is commonly used for pie plates, cake or muffin pans, baking sheets and even pasta pots, steamers, skillets and stockpots.
• Copper - is good for thermal conductivity, it provides most of the heating aspect. Copper tends to be heavy and requires occasional re-tinting. It is also expensive. So far, they are considered as the best for fast cooking and sautéing due to such high heat.
• Cast Iron - a reactive material that can withstand very high temperatures. Cast iron is a porous material that easily rusts and requires seasoning before usage.
• Stainless Steel - is a relatively poor heat conductor. It is commonly used for kitchen equipment that contains a minimum of 11.5% chromium. Stainless steel is an iron alloy that also blends containing 18% chromium with either 8% nickel, called 18/8, or with 10% nickel, called 18/10. It reacts with either alkaline or acidic foods. Thus, they do not easily dent.
• Carbon Steel - maintains high strength and heat resistance when rolled into very thin sheets of material. Carbon Steel may be an advantage for woks and paella pans, but it does not conduct any heat. A process of rubbing fat on the surface can be done as its recommended usage in cooking.
There are also composite and coated cookwares such as:
• Enamel casted iron - made of cast iron which covers the surface with porcelain. It is has the properties that combines cast iron with a non-reactive and low stick surface. Thus, this creates a piece that has retention and heat distribution.
• Enamel over steel - this technique creates a piece that has a non-reactive, heat distribution of carbon steel and a low stick surface. Enamel over steel is ideal for large pans that are used mostly in water based cooking. Thus, it is a popular piece of cookware for camping instances because of its lightweight feature.
• Clad aluminum or copper - a technique with a layer of heat conducting material that can fabricate pans, such as aluminum and copper. Both its inner and the outer portion of a pot made of aluminum are typically clad. This way, it provides stainless surfaces for cooking and a contact cook top. Plus, the interior surface of copper is typically clad which leaves more attractive copper for exposure to the outer side of the pan.
• Teflon coated frying pan (Non-stick) - Teflon (polytetrafluoroethylene) minimizes the possibility of food sticking to the pan's surface. Using Teflon is much easier because it is effortless to clean it as compared to other pots. Aside from this, there are no frequent results of having foods burned in its usage. It is important that while cooking, never use metal implements on the pan. This requires cautious care and attention.
Non-metallic
Non-metallic cookware can be used in microwave ovens but cannot be used on the stovetop. Such examples are as follows:
• Ceramics - provides a nonstick cooking surface such as glazed ceramics like porcelain. Terra Cotta (unglazed ceramics) has a porous surface. During the cooking process, its surface can hold water and other liquids. Hence, some glazes used on ceramic have a highly contained level of lead that can be a risk to our health.
• Glass - Borosilicate glass is oven safe and allows the food to be seen with its clear glass.
• Glass-ceramic - this ceramic is used in making different products that has the best properties of both glass and ceramic cookware. It is immune to thermal shock because of it's near-zero co-efficiency to thermal expansion.
• Silicone - able to withstand maintained temperatures of 675°F (360°C). It is light and flexible. The advantage of removing baked goods from the pan is its own flexibility.
Cooking vessels such as pots and pans have different variations and types. Such are:
• Braising pans and roasting pans - also known as roasters and braisers. It provides space for cooking chicken, pork or beef. It is also a shallow, large and wide pan, usually made of heavy gauge metal for safety usage on cook tops. Thus, it typically has a cover and two loops or handles.
• Casserole pans - can be used on the stovetop and in the oven. It is commonly made from glazed ceramic. A casserole is similar to having a roaster and a Dutch oven that can be used interchangeably.
• Dutch ovens - used for stews, soups, braised meats and a variety of large dishes, for slow low heat cooking. It is made from cast iron. Generally it is made into a deep pot with a heavy lid, for the purpose of re-creating oven conditions on the stovetop.
• Frying Pans or Skillets - sometimes called omellette pans. Frypans provide shallow sides, a large flat heating surface, and it measures 20-30 cm in diameter. Thus, it is best for frying food.
• Griddles - used for grilling, making pan breads such as pancakes and crepes, and frying. It is a flat circular plate metal with a semicircular hoop that is attached to the sides. It has a measurement of about 20 up to 30 cm in diameter. There are also rectangular and square griddles like grill pans, which enables its content to define a pattern similar to a waffle maker.
• Saucepans - used for boiling or simmering. It has one long handle unlike sauce-pots that possesses two handles, for easy lifting with both hands. Usually 1-8 liters, saucepans are measured by volume.
• Sauté pans - like a fry pan, it is used for sautéing. Sauté pans have vertical sides and a large area surface in order to prevent food during cooking from escaping.
• Stockpots - allows stock to simmer for a period of time. It is a large pot that comes in different sizes in order to meet the needs of a family who wants to prepare the food for a banquet.
• Woks - typically used for stir-frying, but can be used also for steaming and deep frying. It has a rough bowl shape that is wide and has one or two handles near the rim.

Cream Cheese Delights
1/2 cup margarine
1 pkg 3 ounce cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
halved marashino cherries
Cream margarine, cream cheese and sugar. Then add egg and vanilla. Combine flour salt gradually to the creamed mixture. Drop by tsp. Top each with a half of a cherry. Bake at 350% for 12-15 minutes. Cool before taking up.
