Chocolate cake recipe that calls for.....?
Looking for a chocolate cake/cupcake recipe that uses canned pumpkin in it. Also I have some left over buttermilk from a cake that I made. Don't want it to spoil, what should I make with it. (pancakes are not an option... don't really like them)
I googled "pumpkin chocolate" and found these recipes. I've never used canned pumpkin in a chocolate recipe, but I bet the pumpkin would make for a moist cake or muffin.
You can go to allrecipes.com and search for quick bread or muffin recipes that call for buttermilk. There are a lot on this site.

I'm baking a cake, which one should I trust?
should I trust a recipe that has reviewers or one that sounds good
(recipe rated 4 stars by reviewers)
1 cup butter
2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water
(recipe that sounds good, but not sure about)
2 Cups Flour
2 Cups Sugar
¾ Cup Hershey's Cocoa
2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
2 Eggs (I use large eggs)
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Buttermilk
Remember that you can freeze buttermilk so you have to make another buttermilk chocolate cake recipe.
1 Cup Mazola Oil
1 ½ Teaspoons Vanilla Extract
1 Cup Boiling Water
Sorry, but neither. You need to be using BAKING POWDER. Not soda.
That aside, I'd pick the 2nd recipe, because it has a little more salt, and has more cocoa, and it has vanilla in it.
The boiling water makes it bake nicer too.
That recipe will give you a nice moist cake, as long as you don't put baking soda in it. lol.
