weekly meal planner?
what are a list your favorite family meals that are cheap, including recipes....I'm trying to do a monthly meal planner, but finding it hard to find sites
One thing I do is cook up a lot of hamburger meat with onion in it. I chop up a whole lot of onion at one time in my food processor and freeze it in little baggies divided out in "for one pound of meat" baggies and then pull it out early to thaw for the meat cooking. I cook up enough to make one meal each of: 1. shepherds pie 2. chili 3. spaghetti 4.to put in brown gravy to put over cooked, split crescent rolls by mashed potatoes 5.hamburger stew. 6.sloppy joes 7 "dirty rice" I use instant rice and canned red beans. I always make extra instant rice for breakfast the next morning. I put the leftover sloppy joe mix into the spaghetti meat sauce. You can freeze the stew if you need to. I work two job so I use the Idahoan brand of mashed potatoes (instant but when when cooked with milk instead of water they are really good and don't taste like instant) for 1 & 2. They have several different flavors to choose from to change up your meal a little. I use any leftover potatoes for soup the next day at work adding a few tablespoons of my frozen onion and chopped dried celery flakes(jarred) to simmer, throw it in the ice box and take to work with me. After I cook up all the meat I put it into containers to throw into my meals when I come home.

I had read a few articles before on working with controlled reps that can speed up your fat loss rate than what you do with higher number of sets. I never took note of it until I across the Fat Burning Furnace. I tried these workouts and unfortunately, I have to admit, I was wrong to skip the articles I had read before.
The workouts are super short but very intense and definitely provide the results you expect in a very short time.

This is where Rob Poulos managed to lose a little bit of the power from his guide. When it comes to fat loss, the workout only plays a 20% role whereas the diet and nutrition are the godfathers, thus playing an 80% role.
Rob does mention about the importance of diet and nutrition, and also gives a good detailed explanation on the types of food you should and shouldn’t eat for fat loss, but he still failed to include certain information like importance of certain kinds of milk and certain fatty acids that can actually boost your fat loss.
Yet, Rob did a good job with explaining the diet principles. The Fat Burning Furnace has given a clear set of guidelines on what to eat and how to eat which is more than enough for a standard fat loss routine especially with a cool workout routine as I explained above.

Overall, Fat Burning Furnace is definitely worth a try. It is a weight loss system which could easily work for you, regardless of the amount of fat or weight that you want to lose and regardless of the type of lifestyle that you have. Through this easy-to-follow guide, you would surely be on your way to achieving that slim and toned body that you have always dreamed of.

Leeks with Sunday dinner - oven recipe please?
Got some leeks to go with Roast Pork Sunday dinner. Ideally, I want to cook them in the oven which will be at gas mark 4-5. I've got an idea to braise them in some stock but how long do you reckon it would take to cook them if they are whole? No creamy recipes thanks as it won't go with the roast dinner.

This is how I like them
Braised Leeks
8 leeks
water, stock or a mixture
4 tablespoons butter
salt and pepper
fresh parsley, minced, for garnish
Directions:
You can add wine, herbs or cream (no cream in your case) to this recipe, when served as a side dish to roast meats.
PREHEAT OVEN TO 350F. Clean leeks. Without cutting entirely through the root, slit the leeks lengthwise to remove all of the dirt. Trim to a total length of about 8 inches (save the trimmings for stock). Place the leeks in a baking dish in 1 layer. Pour in enough water or stock to come about halfway up the leeks. Dot with butter and salt and pepper to taste. Set the baking dish over high heat on the stove top and bring to a boil. Cover and braise in oven for 30-to-40 minutes or until the whites of the leeks are tender. The cover may be left slightly open to evaporate some of the liquid. Sprinkle with butter or minced parsley and serve.

Any one know a recipe for healthy low fat blueberry muffins?
LOW - FAT BLUEBERRY MUFFINS
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 1/2 c. quick cooking rolled oats
2 tsp. baking powder
2 lg. egg whites
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. pineapple-orange concentrate
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. unsweetened blueberries
Combine egg whites, buttermilk, juice concentrate, and vanilla. In separate bowl, combine flour, oats, baking powder, and baking soda. Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients; blend until just moistened. Pour into non-stick vegetable coated tins.

Can someone tell me some low-fat Dessert Recipes?
I'm really looking for some low fat/low carb and sugar recipes.
There are tons of no flour or sugar brownies and chocolate cakes.........but are there any yellow or vanilla cakes or any non chocolate ones? That either have no flour or is not too fattening?
What about cookies?
Whenever I look online I can't find any. I always find Chocolate, chocolate, chocolate, lol.
There HAS to be healthy non chocolate cakes and stuff.
And I'm not talking about the icing. I know healthy ways to make icing lol.
know any sites please send them to me or let me know the recipe somehow.

Baked blueberry & peach meringues
Cooking Time
15 minutes
Ingredients (serves 4)
* 2 egg whites, at room temperature
* 100g (1/2 cup) caster sugar
* 250g drained canned peaches in natural juice
* 125g (1 cup) thawed frozen blueberries
* 2 tbs almond meal
Method
1.
Preheat oven to 220°C. Use an electric beater to whisk egg whites in a clean, dry bowl until firm peaks form. Add sugar, 1 tablespoonful at a time, beating well after each addition until sugar dissolves and mixture is thick and glossy.
2.
Combine peaches, blueberries and almond meal in a bowl. Spoon fruit mixture among four 185ml (3/4-cup) capacity ovenproof ramekins and top with a dollop of meringue. Bake in oven for 7-10 minutes or until golden. Serve immediately.

Baked Caramel Custard.
Cooking Time
30 minutes
Ingredients (serves 4)
* Melted butter, to grease
* 2 eggs, lightly whisked
* 125ml (1/2 cup) thickened cream
* 125ml (1/2 cup) no-fat milk (Dairy Farmers Shape brand)
* 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
* 155g (3/4 cup) caster sugar
Method
1.
Preheat oven to 220°C. Brush four round 8cm (base measurement) 150ml-capacity ovenproof ramekins with melted butter to lightly grease. Place ramekins in a roasting pan.
2.
Combine the egg, cream, milk, vanilla essence and 55g (1/4 cup) of the sugar in a jug.
3.
Place the remaining sugar in a medium heavy-based frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring with a metal spoon, for 3 minutes or until the sugar dissolves and starts to caramelise. Add enough boiling water to the roasting pan to reach halfway up the sides of the ramekins. Pour the hot caramel evenly among ramekins.
4.
Pour the milk mixture evenly among ramekins. Cover each ramekin with foil. Cook in preheated oven for 12 minutes. Uncover ramekins and cook for a further 5 minutes or until custard sets. Remove from oven. Carefully turn the baked caramel custards into shallow bowls and serve immediately.

Fruity Coconut Lemongrass Skewers
Go full speed ahead to dessert with these colourful easy-to-assemble fruit skewers.
Preparation Time
15 minutes
Cooking Time
5 minutes
Ingredients (serves 4)
* 4 stems lemon grass
* 2 kiwifruit, peeled, each cut into 8 pieces
* 4 freestone peaches, quartered, stones removed
* 8 strawberries, washed, hulled, halved
* 2 tbs brown sugar
* 2 tbs shredded coconut
* Vanilla yoghurt, to serve
Method
1.
Cut the lemon-grass stems into 20cm lengths, then cut in half lengthways. Remove the tough outer layers and trim one end of each stem to make a point (this makes skewering the fruit easier).
2.
Thread the kiwifruit, peach and strawberry among the skewers.
3.
Preheat grill on high. Place the skewers, in a single layer, on a baking tray. Sprinkle with brown sugar and coconut. Cook under grill for 30 seconds or until the sugar caramelises and the coconut is toasted. Serve immediately with vanilla yoghurt.
