Chicken Recipes Valentine's Day
I am trying to make traditional chile relleno like my sister in law. Can you tell me what the recipe is exactl?
I know she said platano macho which is mashed up banana, and also I think for the meat she uses either chicken or hamburger with onion and cheese. Can someone please tell me? This is my husband's favorite. I want to make it for him for valentine's day.
It's actually his brother's wife. She is really nice, but I am ashamed to ask. I guess I should not be. Also, they are from Vera Cruz.
Tell his sister that you would like her recipe.
There is no Exact recipe. Every family and region will have a different take on it. You sister in law probably changes hers a bit from her parents or who ever taught her to make it.
Tell you sister in law that it is for her brother (I am guessing they are brother and sister and not in-laws them selves) and maybe you can hit that spft spot. Or ask if you can watch/help her make it.

Valentine's Dinner for Picky Boyfriend?
I'm having my boyfriend down for the weekend just after Valentine's Day and want to cook him dinner. I want something that I can prepare ahead of time and put together in under an hour before serving, or something I can make in a crock-pot or the like and let cook for the day.
I've been having trouble finding a good recipe, though, as he is a very picky eater! Here are a few of the things he doesn't like: pieces/chuinks of tomato (blended into sauce is fine), onion, seafood of any kind, ginger, cooked carrots, sweet things like fruit mixed in with meat, curry.
I was sort of hoping for a pasta dish, but it might also be fun to make dinner out of some funner finger foods like pizza and potato wedges. What do you think? I already have a chocolate fondue planned for dessert 
My guy and I love to do finger foods. They tend to be a lot lighter and the focus is on feeding each other little bites. He is pretty traditional with the foods he likes, but I like to introduce new foods into those. One thing I like to do is not waste food so I buy 1 roll, 1 chicken breast, etc. So the recipes can be more costly than if you bought in bulk, but you won't waste anything. Here are some examples.
Get a Portugese roll (although any dense roll will do), slice and toast on one side with olive oil. Flip it over and top with a slice of ham and a slice of manchego chese. Pop in the broiler and let the cheese melt. Ham and cheese sandwich. If he likes mustard a smear of mustard would be good. You can prepare this all ahead until the broil part and it's still good.
Chicken or beef skewers always go over well. Just season your meat with salt and pepper. 10 minutes in the oven you're all set. You can make any type of dip you like. I like Asian flavors on skeweres like Thai peanut or a teriyaki, but anything you like would be good. Honestly, if he's that picky you could add some fresh herbs to his favorite salad dressing and he would probably like that.
Instead of potato wedges, how about making your own chips. They are so much better. Keep them warm in a 200 oven, then right before you are about to serve top with some cheese and chives (not as oniony) and serve with sour cream.
Try to think outside the box. Pizza is good, but could you spread it with alfredo sauce, broccoli, chicken and mozz instead of tomato and cheese.

Valentine's Day Cooking - Tips To Prepare A Romantic Meal
If you are lucky enough to have found that special person in your life who means everything to you, then Valentines Day is the perfect time to celebrate your love for each other and traditionally a romantic candlelit meal for two is the ideal way to spend your evening together. However, there are many reasons why going out to a restaurant for dinner is not such a great idea! Trying to book a table in the restaurant of your choice is always going to be difficult - so many other couples are thinking on the same lines as you. And, as Valentine's day falls halfway through the month there are still two weeks to go before you can really afford to splurge on such a luxury. And what if the weather is miserable? Do you really want to brave the elements when the ideal solution is much closer to home and will ultimately prove to be much more romantic.
Why not create a wonderful meal together in the comfort of your own home. You are saving on expensive restaurant bills and you can now afford to buy really exotic gourmet delicacies for your Valentine's day meal together. There may be many dishes you have longed to try when dining out but the cost of them has been somewhat prohibitive to say the least. Normally extravagant dishes such as filet mignon and shrimp are perfect for this occasion, or oysters and asparagus which are considered to be wildly sensual. And, Valentine's day wouldn't be the same without chocolate. Try hand made Belgian chocolate and truffles or chocolate laced with liqueur, or whatever you love most.
You and your partner spend you time thinking of the little (and big) things that will bring each other
joy. You definitely will have many things in common including food favourites. Consider creating a dish that incorporates his love of seafood, fish, chicken or pasta. If you have to track down a recipe for some obscure dish that he has always loved but can't find. Whatever it is, if prepared with love and care he will be so grateful for the lengths you have taken to make him happy.
The main course is taken care of and thoughts turn to the final part of the meal. If the meal so far has been fairly light you can go all out and serve a wonderful confection but don't choose anything that has a soporiphic effect! Finish your meal with something that as light as a souffle or as decadent as a cheesecake. If you are both worried about over indulging try taking a stroll before dinner or even a little dancing to set Valentine's Day dinner off to a romantic start.
Creating the perfect setting for your Valentine's day meal is as important as the meal itself. Don't forget the visual presentation of the meal plays an important part in the overall enjoyment. You want this to be a special occasion that you will always remember, so that little extra effort is really rewarding. Use your best china, make sure that the cutlery is gleaming and lay your table with your finest table linens. Set the ambience by dimming the lights, or eating by candle light is even better. Have some soft seductive music playing in the background and a bottle of chilled champagne is the final touch.
Your Valentine's day dinner for two will definitely be more successful if you have your home entirely to yourselves. Don't share the evening with anyone else but yourselves. If you have children,as much as you love them, see if you can find a close friend or relative to look after them for this one special night. They will probably have a great time anyway and it really is important to share special moments with the person you love to keep the passion and romance you share alive.

Food of love? for tonight.?
Im going to a valentines day party tonight with my parents and they want me to make like a kids dessert (they suggest cupcakes) and i want something creative because the theme of the party is food of love. These people are amazing cooks and i dont want lame dessert next to their creme brulee or whatever. Could you give me a fun easy recipe?
OMG make a cake in a heart shaped pan (or in a regular pan and cut it into a heart), mix store-bought white frosting with the tinsiest amount of red or green or yellow dye possible to make them really lightly colored, then write "Be My Valentine" on it or something like that that is okay for kid ears and then serve it with candy sweethearts! Your cake should look like a really large sweetheart and kids will eat any kind of cake, so they'll love you double if you serve it with candies. And it'll be so cute and amazing that everyone will think it's awesome!!!
And sorry. I was a kid once. I HATED chocolate covered strawberries. I loved chocolate. I loved strawberries. But together they freaked me out. "Chocolate and fruit? Disgusting." I suggest cake. You CANNOT go wrong with cake. No matter how bad you mess up. For example, if you would try this recipe and the heart was a triangle and the frosting was deep blue and you forgot the candies kids would STILL love it.

HEY VEGANS! i need a recipe?
Valentine's day is coming up and i need some really easy (i mean REALLY easy) recipes of things i can make for that special little vegan. got any ideas? i really appreciate it.

easiest ever berry crisp
2 1/2 cups fresh or frozen berries
1/2 cup apricot preserves (fruit only kind is the best)
1 1/2 cups of you favorite granola
some dairy free margarine or butter
1. preheat oven to 350. In a bowl, mix together berries and preserves. Place berry mixture in a greased 9-inch square baking pan or small glass casserole dish
2. Spread granola evenly on top of berries, and scatter little dots of margarine or butter on top of the granola
3. bake for about 25 minutes, or until granola looks alittle browned and berries look juicy and bubbly. serves 4 to 6

Did you cook or dine in instead of dining out for Valentine's day?
If so, I'm curious to know...what did you have? Did you keep it simple? Did you have familiar comfort food? Did you try something new? Did you spend very little or alot of thought and effort into preparation?
I wanted to treat my husband to a romantic and very private dinner at our home.
First course: Insalata Caprese.
Second Course: Cremini Mushroom Ravioli in a homemade smoked fontina and bechamel sauce.
Dessert: Homemade chocolate cake covered with ganache and sliced wild strawberries.
We are stuffed! And I'm exhausted from 2 days of searching recipes, shopping, prep, cooking, and clean up. IDK I might take shortcuts and keep it semi homemade next year LOL

What is the best/easy to make recipe for a Vegan (Vegetarian) for Valentine's day?
im gonna make something for my best friend on valentine's day;;he is a Vegan or a Vegetarian that don't eat cheese/milk/eggs/butter (Dairy Products);; but i don't really know how to cook.. soo is there sumthing REALLY easy to make? lol thx ;D
I'm vegan, and I use vegweb.com for everything.
The general tao's tofu is really good. I just made it. Follow the recipe, but double the sauce because there wasn't enough when I made it.

Mother's Day Gifts With A Food Theme
Mother's day gifts don't have to be one item with a price tag big enough to convince mom you're not cheap and small enough to survive till your next pay check arrives. There's an entire category of other items that can be combined to gift a wonderful experience to your mom without declaring bankruptcy or Ebenezer Scrooge syndrome on Mothers day.
Not all Mother's day experiences are meant to be had at spas. For a woman who loves to cook and experiment with ingredients, the kitchen is actually where she'll have a good time and mother's day is when you should try and make it a great time.
For moms who love to cook and are dire food fans, the choice in mothers day gifts is huge. You can create an entire ensemble of food and cooking related items. Combine things that your mom can enjoy immediately and things that she can experiment with later on.
Go online and look for a cook book. A lot of famous names in cuisine have special addition cookbooks published. Try and find one of them or try to finding a Cookbook that features the top recipes by your mom's favorite chef. Just remember that this is only a gift you can give to someone who loves to cook. If your mom or your wife don't enjoy spending a lot of time in the kitchen, giving them a cook book on mothers day isn't going to say anything other than ‘you're a bad cook'. Remember that this is a fairly low priced gift so you still need to complement it with something in order to create a food themed gift.
Remember to give a gift that can be enjoyed immediately like mothers day gifts baskets that are filled with food or fruit bouquets. The good thing about gifts like this is that even if your mother or wife isn't a fan of cooking she'll still enjoy eating her way through a nice fruit bouquet. (Don't tell her to share it with you; she'll share if she wants to). As opposed to people who enjoy cooking, the number of people who like to eat is far greater so a fruit bouquet or a nice mothers day fruit basket will sit well with any woman, whether she's your mom, your wife or your grandma.
With all this talk of food, culinary related gifts and special experiences, it's only obvious that a lot of people will consider taking their moms or wives out for a mother's day dinner which surprisingly isn't as great an idea as it seems. The gifts aren't supposed to drain your entire life's savings and after Valentines Day; mother's day is next in line for restaurants to cash in big time so you need to avoid dining out. The real mother's day meal is actually breakfast in bed that you help your kids make for the wife or that you sneak in early to make for your mom.
Even if that special woman you're going to honor on Mothers day isn't a fan of spending time slaving over a hot stove, don't go for the easy-way-out gifts like flowers and/ or chocolate because it's mothers day, not valentines day or Hallmark appreciation week. A nice original food to share will work just as well if not better. When you think about it, the time long mother's day tradition of breakfast in bed is centered on food. You just need to find something original!

anyone know an easy truffle recipe?
need it for valentine's day and make sure its for about at least 40 truffles?
You need:
1/3 Cup Thickened Cream
250g Dark Milk Melts/Cooking Chocolate
2 tsp Vanilla Essence
350g Dark Cooking Chocolate, extra
30g chopped Copha
Method:
Put Cream and 250g Chocolate in a glass bowl and melt in the microwave for 2 minutes. Stir. If necessary, microwave for another 1 minute. Stir til melted and smooth.
Stir in the Vanilla essence, cover with gladwrap and leave in the fridge for 30 minutes til if firms.
When firm, beat with electric mixer til colour lightens and mixture is light and fluffy (2-3 minutes). Wrap again and refrigerate for another 30 minutes or til firm enough to roll into balls.
Scoop teaspoonfuls of the mixture and roll into balls, keep the first batch in the fridge while making the others. Melt the 350g chocolate and copha in glass bowl in microwave and dip the truffle balls in the mixture using two forks to roll them in chocolate, then carefully lift out and lay on alfoil lined tray. Set in the fridge while making the others.
When set, re-coat in remaining chocolate, and you can vary the assortment by rolling wet chocolate mix into either coconut, chocolate 100's & 1000's or sifted cocoa. A sliver of walnut or cherry can also be "glued" on top of a truffle with a dab of warm chocolate.
